Denodo and Alibaba Cloud Join Forces for Data Integration
Denodo and Alibaba Cloud have joined forces to deliver new capabilities around data integration and data management to support mid-sized and large enterprises.
The move will see the Denodo Platform being offered on the Alibaba Cloud global marketplace, enabling businesses to manage their data and access real-time analytics in a hybrid cloud environment.

According to the release, Denodo on Alibaba Cloud offers support for ApsaraDB for Oceanbase, PolarDB, and AnalyticDB, among others.
When approached, Angel Viña, CEO and founder of Denodo, explained to CDOTrends that the product features for Denodo Platform for Alibaba Cloud are mainly driven by customer needs and informed by the data management leader’s work on product innovation.
“The native connectors are to enhance the performance of the complex BI queries that the users run against multi-terabytes and petabytes of data via integrated business-friendly views of all the disparate data sources built using the Denodo’s low code/no code platform,” he said.
“The UI interface facilitates a centralized security framework and supports a variety of use cases such as BI reporting, data as a service, curated data sets for accelerated data science, and a centralized data marketplace to name a few.”
According to Viña, the landscape of data management will undergo a rapid transformation as organizations need to confront the escalating volumes of data spread across diverse environments. Indeed, AI adoption will further contribute to the already substantial amount of existing data, he said.
Self-service analytics tools and relevant training and support to employees are hence vital to help them access and analyse data independently, he noted.
The Denodo Platform on Alibaba Cloud allows enterprises to use a logical approach to rapidly access and deliver data siloed across multiple sources in a secure way, says Selina Yuan, vice president of Alibaba Group and president of International Business for Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
This helps businesses accelerate the transition to cloud workloads, and results in enhanced data management practices and access capabilities such as intelligent BI reporting, data-as-a-service (DaaS), optimized cloud migrations, and data science in the cloud, says Yuan.
