One of the oldest retailers in Hong Kong is going digital.
Wing On Department Stores (Hong Kong) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the listed Wing On Company International Limited, is in the final stages of a three-year digital transformation project.
Looking to improve omnichannel customer experience, the project will refresh Wing On's existing core internal and customer-facing applications, such as ERP and POS, while creating new ones to enhance customer experiences.
It will also create a new customer loyalty program, called Wing On Rewards, “to ensure that Wing On can continue to provide the experience expected by its customers.”
Equinix interconnection services, available in Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers in Hong Kong and solutions will provide the infrastructure foundation.
“Equinix is playing a key role in our digital transformation journey by enabling us to optimize our infrastructure costs. Through managing a key aspect of our infrastructure, Equinix allows Wing On to focus on our core mission of servicing our customers,” Kendrick Kwok, Assistant General Manager, Wing On said.
The services will allow Wing On to consolidate connectivity between applications hosted in public clouds, such as its customer loyalty program application and other on-premises applications, allowing the retailer to choose Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) based on their business goal and workload.
“Today’s consumers expect increasingly seamless and integrated touchpoints with their retailers. It has been a privilege to support Wing On in its business modernization, enabling it to deliver on the expectations of its customers – both now and in the future,” Alex Tam, Managing Director, Equinix Hong Kong said.
